There can be a few different reasons why a recipe doesn’t save correctly in Stashcook. Below is an outline of the main messages you might see in the app — along with what each one means 👇
❌ No recipe detected
Content will not save if there’s no recipe available.
For example, this might happen when trying to save a video or web link that doesn’t actually include a recipe (no ingredients or method listed).
🚫 Restricted content
Some content can’t be accessed by Stashcook due to platform restrictions.
This includes:
Age-restricted content — Stashcook views sources anonymously, so platforms like TikTok and Instagram can’t verify age.
Login-required pages — Recipes shared in private groups or behind login walls (e.g. private Facebook groups) can’t be accessed.
⚙️ Could not process
Stashcook needs a clear list of ingredients and instructions to extract a recipe successfully.
If this information isn’t available or is embedded in a video without written details, the app might not be able to process it.
When saving videos, please note that Stashcook only analyses up to 15 minutes of footage. If the recipe isn’t included in captions or comments, the app will only read the first 15 minutes to try and extract the information.
💬 Still having trouble?
If none of the above apply, please get in touch, and we’ll be happy to investigate.
