How to stash a YouTube video

Learn how to stash recipe videos from Youtube

Save a recipe video from YouTube to Stashcook so the app can extract and store the recipe for later.

Steps to follow

Option 1 - via YouTube Share button


  1. Open YouTube and locate the video containing the recipe.

  2. Tap Share on the video.

  3. Scroll to find more (three-dot menu)

  4. Click more (three-dot menu) then select the Stashcook app icon

  5. Your recipe will then be imported

Option 2 - via YouTube Copy Link Button


  1. Tap Share on the video.

  2. Choose Copy link.

  3. Exit YouTube and Open the Stashcook app (or Stashcook web)

  4. Tap the "Stash Recipe" at the bottom of the screen

  5. Select "Paste Web URL" from the list of options

  6. Paste the copied link into the input field

  7. Tap "Stash"

  8. Your recipe will then be imported

Note: Stashcook supports recipe extraction from videos up to 15 minutes in duration when no written ingredients or instructions are provided in the video description. For videos exceeding this limit, or those with minimal audio transcription data, video frames are not used to extract recipe content.
