How to make a weekly meal plan with Stashcook:
🍲 Add Recipes or Notes
Tap Planner.
Then choose a day to start planning by pressing the + symbol.
Select recipe to add any of your saved dishes using the search filter.
Or use note to add reminders like “leftovers” or “takeaway night.”
See the help doc Adding Notes to the Meal Planner for a detailed explanation.
💡 Tip: Planning even a few days ahead helps avoid last-minute takeout and unnecessary grocery trips.
Example:
🔁 Duplicate a successful week
If you’ve planned a week that worked well, you can duplicate the entire week to save time and effort.
Select the week you would like to duplicate using the weekly view.
Tap the 3 dots in the top-right hand corner to find duplicate Week.
You can then use the monthly view to select where you want the duplicated week.
All recipes and notes from your successful plan will be copied automatically.
💡 Tip: This is perfect for repeating favourite meals, staying organised, and keeping your grocery shopping efficient.
🗑️ Remove or adjust meals
Need to make changes? Tap any recipe or note in your plan to remove or make edits.
Serving sizes of recipes can be edited by tapping view.
You can also reorder meals by dragging and dropping them within your weekly view - or move them to a different date entirely.
💡 Tip: The quickest way to remove a recipe or note is by swiping left. But don't panic, there is an 'undo' option for any mistakes.
📅 Switch between Weekly and Monthly views
Choose between a weekly overview for quick planning or a monthly calendar to spot patterns, special occasions, or busy weeks in advance.
Tap the 3 lines in the top-left hand corner to select your planner format.
You can also change the start date for the weekly planner by tapping the 3 dots in the top-right hand corner.
🏷️ Organise with tags
Add tags (like “vegetarian,” “quick dinner,” or “kids’ favourite”) to make it easier to balance meals and find recipes that fit your schedule or preferences.
Tap any recipe or note in your plan to find Add Tags
Example:
🛒 Create your grocery list from the planner
Once your week is set, you can add to shopping list to instantly collect all the ingredients you’ll need.
Tap the 3 dots in the top-right hand corner to find Add to Shopping list.
Here you can select which ingredients to add and unselect those you already have.
💡 Tip: You can also make changes to servings sizes when adding to the shopping list which edits ingredient quantities. This ensures you only buy what’s necessary — saving money and reducing food waste.
See the help doc Ways to use the Shopping List for more top tips!
👨👩👧👦 Plan together with Family Share
If you use Family Share, the recipes and notes you add will automatically be added to the planner for all family members to see. This makes it easy for everyone in your household to see what’s for dinner and contribute ideas.
You can choose to make a recipe or note private by sliding the blue toggle left.
An icon will then appear in the bottom-right hand corner of any recipes or notes you have set to private.
✅ Done!
Using the Meal Planner helps you stay ahead, reduce waste, and bring more joy to your cooking routine. The more you plan, the easier it becomes to eat well - and stress less.
